Happy 2nd Anniversary to us!

Wow...I can't belive it's been two years! I still remember it like it was yesterday. I know this year we said we weren't going to buy each other gifts but I still had to get something...a little something. I will post after what the gift is. =)

Just in case people are following the traditional anniversary gift giving. Year 1: paper Year 2: cotton Year 3: leather Year 4: fruits/flowers (that's going to be a hard one) Year 5: Wood. And if you make it that far, I'm sure you can figure the rest out! =)

Here are some of my fav pictures from my wedding:

We saw each other before the wedding so we had time to take pictures

We did a simplified tea ceremony. My dad started tearing and that got me and hubs to start crying

We were so happy! Advice I can give brides: Don't forget to have fun at your wedding, enjoy every min of it and don't worry about the small stuff. After all the planning, you deserve to enjoy your own party. Trust the vendors you chose and share a quiet moment with your new hubby. It will be a day you never forget.

Need a basket

What a busy, busy week. I have a wedding right around the corner, a bride getting nervous because her wedding's next month, and another out of town bride flying in for vendor meetings. No time to post. Well...maybe just a short post. =)

I usually make a gift basket to leave in the wedding suite. I'll fill it with snacks in case the couple's hungry after a long night. Or if they're leaving on their honeymoon, I'll include treats to eat on the plane. Most of the time I try to put things they like: something to drink such as wine, champagne, sparkling sodas, usually some sort of sweets like chocolate, cookies or crackers, and nuts. But for the first time, I purchased the basket from Bristol Farms. I knew I didn't have time. It's a nice basket and I hope the couple enjoys it.

Here it is: pistachio, vanilla root beer, cherry limeade soda, gummy bears, jelly beans, cheese and crackers.

And since I saw flowers...couldn't resist taking a few pictures.
Pin cushions...aren't they adorable?!

Vibrant colors

And as always, we headed for food. I tried Phoenix restaurant when it first came out and I thought it was okay. Then I see it 'springing up' everywhere and had no idea why. Hubs and I were heading for some Taiwanese icee but saw all the people in Phoenix so we thought we'll give it another try. And it was GOOD!

And lucky me, I have a Phoenix restaurant right across the street from work.

Liam's 1st Birthday!

Over the weekend, I went to my friend's baby birthday party. It was nice to see everyone from school again. It's been a while and with everyone's busy schedule, it's been hard to meet up. Whenever we send out Evites, it's at least two months before the event to give everyone a heads up. Crazy I know!

My friend and his wife have the most well behaved baby. Liam's not only adorable but he's SO good! When we arrived, Liam's mommy told us the baby might be fussy because he didn't take a nap. But not once through the whole night did he even cry. Liam just looks at you with his big round eyes and if you stare long enough, he'll break out into a smile!

We started the night out with Korean BBQ. The food was catered from Corner Place. I eat at the Koreatown location a lot. The restaurant has the BEST lan-mei (cold noodle). My friend wasn't too excited since they cater from there frequently. We were lucky he didn't try something new because the food was delicious.

As I was eating, I saw this money hanging on a pomegranate tree. It's a piƱata for the kiddies.

Here is the happy family right after the toll.

I thought this was a funny picture. It looks like 'Hey, I caught one!'

The first birthday party is a very important celebration in Korean families. In the past, the infant mortality rate was very high, so living until one year was an important turning point in a child’s life. The highlight of the first birthday, or toll, celebration is the ‘picking-up’ ceremony, when the child is believed to fortell his or her future. Thread for long life, pencil the child is destined to be a scholar, money the child will be in business, etc, etc. It's a fun celebration with all the guests telling the baby to pick up different things. Well...as the picture shows, little Liam will be like Daddy and do great in school.

Here are the kids practicing their swing.

Attack...it's raining candies!

Do you notice any striking similaities?

It was nice to see everybody. I can't believe how fast time pass. Wasn't it just yesterday I was munching seaweed in class and giggling randomly? And the good friend sitting next to me is playing scrabble on the computer with my other good friend sitting a few rows infront. Oh Liam's daddy wouldn't know...because he hardly ever shows up to class besides coming in to ace the finals! =P

Nita & Nat

I thought it might be interesting for you (yeah...all one of you) to meet some of my wedding couples. Introducing Nita and Nat! They are college sweethearts and while on a romantic trip to Maui...Nat proposed. How sweet is that?! You guys need to take note! =) Nita and Nat are the sweetest couple. I love how relax they are. Wedding can be stressful, but not for these two! For all the decisions such as chosing colors to songs, they'll looked sweetly at each other while they discussed and giggled. This couple couldn't be more perfect for each other. I can't wait to see all the DIY project this talented bride has made. I love their engagement photos by the very talented Michael Norwood. It looks like a Banana Republic Ad! Amazing work and I know it's going to be an even more amazin wedding.

Here are some of her projects:

Save the dates...it's so cute! I love the dandelion pattern!

And here is her cake...it'll be in her colors of course!

I can't wait for their wedding. Stay tune for pictures of the actual event!

China Trip 2004

I dug these pictures out because someone is getting marry and need group pictures of our China Trip. And since I uploaded them...here they are for y'all to see.

These pictures are from our MBA school trip to Shanghai 2004. The school trip itself was for a week but a group of us decided to stay additional week and head to Beijing. The week in Shanghai was spent visiting companies, thus we didn't do much sightseeing. Most of the pictures are from sites in Beijing such as the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Temple of Heaven. Oh, and these pictures are scanned (thus the bad quality). I guess we were so old school none of us had a digital camera. Yes, we used pagers instead of cellphones in high school and only started using email in college. Gosh I'm OLD!

Funny story: Students to Shanghai were grouped into A & B. Everyone visited companies according to the Group A or B schedule. As you can imagine, the day came to visit Reeb Beer and that particular group had too many people to fit the bus. I have no shame in admitting, I was not suppose to be on the bus. But did I get up when the professor asked people to leave (that wasn't in the group)...NOPE. I was looking forward to it the WHOLE week. And I knew all the other little sneaks that wasn't suppose to be on the bus. SO HA...I win. =)
